Yarran equals record as Railways crush Eagles
Chris Yarran’s 20 goals on Saturday in Railways’ crushing win over Kambalda, 42.21 (273) to 0.0 (0), equalled a Goldfields Football League record dating back 117 years, but very few were celebrating.
Yarran finished with 20.4 and might have broken Poet Smith’s mark that he set in 1906 while playing for Mines Rovers against Boulder, but he hit the post in the dying moments.
